A student from Zobel, one I just had a short conversation with last January, one I met about a year ago in a Lasallian Youth formation camp, died yesterday. His name was Ambrosio Gregorio Robles. He was known to the students of Zobel as Gig. He was only 17.
Sayang is the word that comes to my mind when I think about Gig's death. He was a very energetic and lively person. He spoke English with a twang but more than the twang he seemed to know what to say. He probably was a good leader... I didn't get a chance to know him better. If I remember correctly, one of his options after Zobel was to study in the States. What I do know is that he would've been one of those crazy people who would've changed the world.
I join his friends from Search In and YFC in prayer. I join his family and friends in mourning.
Again, I do not understand why this has to happen.
Beset with doubts, let us cling to our faith.
His friends... on his multiply site... aptly put it...
God Is Good...
...despite the darkness that falls around us, despite the goodbyes that death brings... God is good.
See you around, Gig. | rest in peace..

rest in peace Gig :) |
 | Hi Arian,
I met Gig when I moderated the PEP squad a couple of years back, I didn't get to know him that well though. I used to see him often riding his bike along Ma. Cristina, I didn't always say hello though. Now I wish I did.
Its think its kinda ironic that we find ourselves thinking about a person only when they're gone.
Its hard to understand all this death stuff.
Our limited human intellects insist in interpreting it in rational and utilitarian terms, saying that it's "sayang" and thinking of what could have been had he not passed. While I know that these are all true, I feel and I know that there's more to life and death than a person's accomplishments, actual or potential. I honestly don't know what it is... although I'm pretty sure it has something to do with Love.
I will pray for Gig, his friends and especially for his parents and his family that they may have peace, maybe not now but hopefully in the future.
"We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment, but it is transient. It is a little parenthesis in eternity. If we share with caring, lightheartedness, and love, we will create abundance and joy for each other. And then this moment will have been worthwhile"

 | I agree, Drago.
In the end, what matters most is love.

 | Drago: Very well said. Arian: I think this is the second eulogy i've read from you in the span of a few weeks.
